In 1975, Dutch Elm disease struck down many trees in
Greenhead Park. Some stumps remain and have been
carved and left as outdoor works of art.

There were ducks on the pond in summer and a brass band playing in the bandstand. In winter the duck pond would freeze over, and we went sliding on the ice.
