CityPoems was open to the public in Leeds, UK, between 14 February 2003 and 31 October 2005 and in Leeds and Antwerp, Belgium throughout the summer of 2004. In that time more than 3,000 poems were downloaded by SMS from poem points across the city of Leeds, and more than 400 poems submitted by SMS, the best of which were added to the system to be downloaded by new readers.

CityPoems was created by Blink, the UK's leading innovators in vernacular creativity and portable devices, but all credit for its success goes to the people of Leeds for taking part so enthusiastically and creatively.
